Details:
The
strongest possibility about the Texas Long Horn is that it is a descendant of
the endangered Middle Eastern wild cow Aurochs. His fame is due to his
unusually long horns. The longest horn horns to date have been recorded at
129.5 inches.
The Long
Horn has been the main breed of cattle in the United States for centuries, but
after the introduction of a variety of new breeds of cattle in the United
States after 1900, the number of Long Horn and the attention paid to it
declined. As a result, by the 1950's, the number of longhorns had dropped
alarmingly, and despite being cattle, it was in grave danger of extinction.
Then in 1964
the Texas Longhorn Breeders Association of America was formed to breed and
protect it. And now most of the Longhorn conservation in the United States is
doing the same thing.
۔
Breeding:
The longest
gestation period in Texas Longhorn is 295 days.
The long
horn cow gives birth to 1 calf at a time. 10 minutes after birth, the calf
stands on its own two feet.
